Yesterday's date, May 1, is a date loaded with significance. There are a whole lot of things that are celebrated on that day, none of them being favorites of George Bush.
May 1st, often called May Day, just might have more holidays than any other day of the year. It's a celebration of Spring. It's a day of political protests. It's a neopagan festival, a saint's feast day, and a day for organized labor. In many countries, it is a national holiday.

President Bush himself declared May 1st to be Law Day, but the law hasn't really turned out to be his friend despite all he's done for it.
Now it's clear that May 1st has become a very special day to remember what the president has accomplished. It's become Mission Accomplished Day and even the loyal opposition has paid tribute to it. I think we can all put aside our differences long enough to agree that George Bush has brought entirely new meaning to that old cliche.
